Hammam - Spa Treatment Overview

April 3rd, 2007 by Donna

So, you’ve seen this treatment and may not be quite sure what it’s all about.  I’ve included an overview of the one that Miraval offers in their spa - it’s based on Moroccon and Turkish bath houses and is incredibly relaxing.   Enjoy!

The Hammam
This treatment deeply detoxifies the skin and eases the body into a state of euphoria. Retreat into a ritual of warmth and pure scent for intense therapeutic transformation based on the skin care practices of the hammam bath houses of Morocco and Turkey. In this five-step body ritual, be thoroughly cleansed with Moraccan mint tea and silt and vigorously scrubbed with coffee, olive stones and fresh lemons. You are then wrapped in rich rhassoul clay to draw deep impurities out of the body, recharged with a quince of orange blossom mist, steeped in neroli and cypress and replenished using the curative essences of cardamom, jasmine bergamot, amber and clove and finally, moisturized with luscious tangerine fig body butter. Inhale, take rest and illuminate.
